1. Royal Garden Hotel Kensington

London does family-friendly hotels well (interconnecting rooms, kids’ menus, and even free ice cream) but the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington takes it to another level.
This hotel offers free Micro Scooters for kids and their parents to zip around Hyde Park, an afternoon tea with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and a ‘flicks and food’ day where you can watch unlimited movies for 24 hours while munching on pizza and popcorn – perfect for those rainy London days!

2. Marriott Grosvenor Square
On a recent trip to London, we decided to stay at the Marriott Grosvenor Square. The rooms are stylish and the breakfast buffet is well done, but best of all is the fabulous location.
Located on a quiet side street off Oxford Street you aren’t far from Bond Street tube station. Families with kids that need to run off some steam will be happy to find a small park (Grosvenor Square) across from the hotel.

3. The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park
There are so many luxury hotels for families in London, but few have the ideal location of the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. Behind the hotel is the city’s largest green space with gardens, playgrounds, and cultural events, even horseback riding arranged by the hotel.
Across the street is Harvey Nichols, and Harrods is only a few blocks away. The tube station is outside the hotel’s front door. The basement-level spa has a wonderful indoor pool with no restrictions on when families can swim, and the suites are incredibly spacious for rollaway beds.

The COMO Metropolitan Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of London’s Mayfair District. The hotel offers spacious rooms, an excellent a la carte breakfast, a world-class spa (because we definitely want mama to be happy), and a Michelin-starred restaurant.

6. Park Plaza Hotels – several London locations
Our family has been to London twice now, and both times we have booked rooms at one of several Park Plaza hotels. Their family rooms help us avoid extra room costs, and they have great locations around the city.
Consider the Plaza on the River for condo-style rooms with in-room laundry, the Park Plaza Westminster with perfect views of Big Ben, or the Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes with a cozy boutique feel just steps from the Sherlock Holmes Museum.

7. Citadines Trafalgar Square
We have stayed at the Citadines Trafalgar Square on our two most recent family trips to London and loved the convenient location on Northumberland Avenue within five minutes walking distance to Trafalgar Square and to the Charing Cross underground tube station.

8. The Trafalgar Hotel St. James Trafalgar Square
As someone who travels a lot with my family, there are certain things that I look for in a hotel before making my choice to stay there. The location needs to be convenient for activities and landmarks in the City that I’m visiting, and the rooms need to be spacious since we usually travel as a group of five (sometimes six).
The Trafalgar Hotel St. James in London met my requirements and even more!
Located steps away from Trafalgar Square and within a short walking distance of many of London’s iconic attractions; Big Ben, Tower Bridge, The London Eye, Buckingham Palace, and Chinatown this hotel ticks all the boxes when searching for the best London hotels for families.
The hotel is chic and cozy and the room (Nelson Double Queen Room) far exceeded expectations with its size and fabulous view of Trafalgar Square.
The friendly staff also made the visit wonderful and stress-free. They were helpful with dining recommendations and tips for the best days and times to visit the often overcrowded attractions.

9. The Rubens at the Palace – Victoria
The Rubens at the Palace is the closest hotel to Buckingham Palace (it overlooks its gardens) and is incredibly family-friendly. This is a hotel that combines luxury with a genuine welcome and we love our stays here.

10. VRBO Apartment – Westminster
Given its close proximity to Victoria Station, where we’d take a train in from Gatwick airport, we chose the Pimlico neighborhood as our home base for our week-long stay in London.
The flat we rented through VRBO was one of our favorite places to stay in London. It provided enough room for our family of 4 to spread out, sleep comfortably, and wind down from our busy travel days.

Have a Harry Potter fan in your group? Don’t miss the opportunity to stay in the Wizard Chambers at Georgian House Hotel.
